Walking on Frozen Lake Bled

We are really trying to make the most of every last minute we have while living here in Europe!  I can't believe our time is coming to an end, but I look back at all the places we have seen and it's amazing!  I feel so lucky to have had this experience and would do it all over again in a heartbeat (hint hint to Chad that I would love another tour in Europe should that opportunity present itself)!  Of course since he has been gone for so much of our time here especially during the warmer months it means we have to do a lot of traveling off season during the COLD months!  It's not easy, but you do get to see some unique things like Lake Bled completely frozen over and hundreds of people just walking around on it!

We traveled for the weekend to Lake Bled in Slovenia.  We stayed in a great resort hotel with a wonderful pool for the kids!  And by pool I mean more like a mini water park complete with slides and waterfalls!  The kids had a blast at the pool!  We walked around the quiet little town and had some great food and took a little walk on the frozen lake one evening.  We wanted to walk all the way out to the middle where the little church was, but Maddie was not a huge fan and carrying a 4 year old on ice isn't really a great idea to me and Chad was already carrying Connor!  So we made it out about halfway and then walked back.  Austin thought it was AWESOME and was sliding all over the place!

The last thing we did before coming home was try the famous Cream Cake!  It's famous for a reason!  It was delicious and with coffee was the perfect breakfast!  Here are a few pics from our little ice adventure!

You can see the trail of people walking all the way out to the little island in the middle.

Chad and the kids.

Me and Maddie right before she wanted to turn around.

The morning we were leaving we woke up to snow!  It was beautiful!

Cream Cake!  YUM!
