Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey

On our last day in London we went to Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard and to Westminster Abbey.  We arrived at what we thought was early for the changing of the guard, but apparently one hour before is not quite early enough.  We were totally squished and couldn't really see too much, but we were there!  I was able to get a few good pictures, but then I looked at my camera and realized they were in black and white.  Oh well!  It was really cool just to be there.  Here are some pictures from the Palace.

After the changing of the guard we went to Westminster Abbey.  This is where most of the kings and queens of England are burried.  They no longer use Westminster for the burials because it is too full.  They also use the church for the coronation of the king or queen.  It was really interesting looking at all the momument to the royalty of England.  The church is very full and you feel like you are tiptoeing around all the tombs and statues.  It was very beautiful inside, but unfortuately like most of the other churches photography is not allowed.  Here a picture outside the Abbey.

In the afternoon we hopped on the tube and rode up to our friends house to stay for the next two nights.  It was great going to a house and not another hotel for the night.  the train ride went pretty smooth and the kids were really excited to see Brad and Janell again!  And of course they were excited to see their friend Chase too!
