We arrived back to the states from Korea on December 5th and since we flew into New York City we decided why not stay and see a few sights! We fit quite a bit into one big day! We drove into the city in the morning and started at Rockefeller center! Austin was really excited to see the great Christmas tree. He was a little overwhelmed by all the people and a little upset that he couldn't see right away. That is the reason for the pout in the picture! It was beautiful and a great thrill to be there! We then walked to FAO Schwartz and waited in line to check out the toy store. It would be an understatement to say the kids loved it! We visited all the floors including where the big piano from Big the movie. Austin even got to dance on it! He had a great time with that. After FAO Schwartz we headed over to Central Park and took a carriage ride. That was really fun and a great way to see some of the sights. It was pretty cold, but the kids were hanging in there and have a great time. When we got in the cab to head to Times Square for some dinner, Maddie completely passed out. Poor little baby was so tired and jet lagged that we no sooner sat down in the cab and she was out! My mom looked over and she just had her head to the side and her eyes were shut! She was so sound asleep that we put her in the stroller when we got out of the cab and she slept straight through dinner in a noisy restaurant. She was so cute!
On the walk back to the car we were able to take in the sights of Times Square. I think the kids were on sensory overload. I think it's really unexplainable the feeling of being there, but it was incredible! We are back home at Nana's house so and we are trying to adjust back to normal. Austin heads back to school tomorrow and is very excited to talk to all his friends about his big adventure!
