A huge event in Europe is the yearly Christmas markets. Almost everywhere has them and they are wonderful to visit. We had heard wonderful things about the Salzburg Christmas Markets which is one of the largest around and we decided we needed to check it out this year. I think after our great experience we will be going back next year if I have anything to say about it. We tasted great food, heard some beautiful Christmas music, and most importantly shopped for Christmas trinkets. We stayed in a cozy little bed and breakfast outside of the city and it was a great place with plenty of room and breakfast included which is always a plus! We arrived very late on Saturday night and just crashed after the 5 hour drive. We shopped in Salzburg all day on Sunday which was a little tiring and freezing cold! We tried to get as many hot drinks and cafe breaks as we could. We ended the night with dinner at the
Augustiner Brewery which is becoming a favorite spot for us.
Here are some pics from out little adventure. Oh and I forgot to mention that we woke up to about 8in of snow on Monday morning and Chad and the kids had a great time playing in it before the drive home!
Austin and Daddy checking out the vendors
Austin and Maddie found a great little train track that was very entertaining to them.
My boys after some HOT drinks!
Shopping after the sun went down was a little CHILLY!
My last words to Austin, "Don't get your jeans soaking wet because we don't have anything else for you to wear!" Did he listen?
Gorgeous view from our room.
