Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! What a wonderful day we had on Friday! We started our Christmas celebration with a nice family service on Christmas Eve at the base chapel. The kids hung in there pretty well through the service and they enjoyed the candlelight part. We headed home to read our stories, Twas the Night Before Christmas read by Nana and The Christmas story read by mommy. Nana sent a great gift from Hallmark where she could record her voice reading the kids the story. Here they are in their Christmas best!

Austin woke up first on Christmas morning at about 7:15 which isn't too bad if you ask me! We were just as excited as him to see what Santa brought us. We made a fire and sat down to check out the gifts. There was a surprise package from Santa right in front of the tree that said, "Open me first!" I was very surprised that Santa brought us a brand new Digital SLR Canon camera. Chad and I had been talking for a while about getting a higher quality camera for our travels here to really get the best pictures we can and I guess Santa agreed! What a surprise!

Maddie recieved some great gifts too! She was very surprised by the new kitchen that Santa left for her. She has been cooking up a storm every since! Santa also brought her some new babies which was her big request. She has been loving on her babies and taking very good care of them. Austin was very excited about every gift he opened. He was having a great time! He recieved lots of new baseball stuff to try out with daddy! He can't wait until we have some nicer weather and he can practice his swing. He also is really enjoying his new remote control car from daddy and his firetruck from Papa! Overall a wonderful Christmas morning. We are so thankful for all that we have!

We spent most of the rest of the day in our PJ's playing with all our new toys and putting in a lot of batteries! Then we got ready for some company for Christmas dinner. Our friends the Anton's came over after naptime and enjoyed a smoked ham prepared by Chad! It was delicious and we were happy to have our friends over to celebrate Christmas with us. The kids were very exhausted after their friends left and crashed that night! They didn't wake up until after 9:00 the next morning!

Exchanging gifts with their friends Morgan and Tyler!

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful weekend of family time! We love you and miss you all!
