I know everyone has been waiting for the big news and here it is! It wasn't our first choice and, well to be honest it wasn't even close to first! We will be going to Kunsan first with a follow on to Misawa. For those of you not in the military that's Korea to Japan. The assignment to Kunsan will be for one year during which Chad will be there without me and the kids and then 3 years to Misawa for all of us! The kids and I are planning right now to spend that first year at my mom's in the Northeast while Chad is at Kunsan and then we will join him in Misawa.
Even though this wasn't our #1 choice we know it will be great because everything so far with the Air Force has always proven to be good for us! We have always heard amazing things about Misawa and the people who have been there all say what a great experience it is. Right now we are just doing all the research we can about both places and talking to people who have been there so we can find out as much information as possible! We are trying to keep a really positive outlook and we hope anyone who can will come to visit us wherever we are. We hear the skiing out there is great!
We will be sure to keep everyone updated when we get dates for our moves and more information comes our way!

You will love Misawa, Japan. We were there for four years. Base housing is really, really nice. We lived in the tower apartments on the main base across from the commissary and the BX. Lots of room. The schools were great.
